Brumby Aircraft Australia

Brumby Aircraft

With thirty years dedicated to manufacturing and installing hard-to-source parts for the general aviation fleet of Piper, Beechcraft and Cessna aircraft, Phil Goard developed the technical aeronautical knowledge to design two world class light sport aircraft - the Brumby 600 LSA low wing and the Brumby 610 Evolution high wing.

Manufactured in Cowra, N.S.W. Australia and using state-of-the-art CNC equipment, two major benefits await prospective buyers of Brumby aircraft - build quality and in-flight performance and handling.

The Brumby LSA is an all metal two seat training and recreational aircraft designed for the recreational pilot and flying school. It is the perfect instructors aircraft with adjustable seating, trim wheel and conventional cockpit layout. The Brumby is a safe and strong aircraft with docile flying characteristics and superb handling in a range of conditions.

Brumby Aircraft design and manufacture aeroplanes that are not only exceptionally strong but are also a pure pleasure to fly.

BushCat Australia – Perfect day for a flight

Rain, wind etc...perfect weather for a Bushcat test flight.

Posted by BushCat Australia on Friday, 10 November 2017

BushCat Australia

BushCat Australia, provides the ultimate adventure plane, a factory built or kit built (nosewheel, taildragger or amphibious) BushCat.  The BushCat is the third and latest generation of the aircraft formally known as the Cheetah.  The BushCat has been designed around four principles: Simplicity, Ruggedness, Low Cost and Fun!

The original Cheetah LSA was a robust and reliable work horse. It quickly gained popularity among the South African bush flying community, and earned its reputation as a fun flying workhorse. Aerodynamic and ergonomic improvements were later made to the aircraft, as well as modifications from worldwide customer feedback, which resulted in the second generation Cheetah XLS.

It soon became clear that the role of the aircraft was to serve bush pilots in areas that other light sport aircraft just couldn’t handle. As a result, the focus moved toward making the aeroplane tougher than any other in its class, and able to withstand the might of the veld and tundra – as a result the BushCat was born.

Since then the BushCat has continued to serve its duties as a bush aeroplane and is being successfully used in anti-wildlife-poaching missions in various regions of Africa. More BushCats are on order by conservation entities for this very purpose as it meets the very specific requirements of these missions.

The aircraft is extremely comfortable with the widest cabin in its class and offers generous headroom making the aircraft perfect for all sizes of pilots.

Due to its simplistic modular design, the aircraft is extremely easy to work on thus reducing the cost of maintenance and repair to a minimum.

Available in nose-wheel and tail-dragger configurations, the aircraft also caters for all preferences. At the 2013 EAA Airventure Oshkosh convention, SkyReach proudly rolled out its Amphibian option, turning heads in the process. The price, performance and cheeky looks of the aircraft capturing the attention of many.

The BushCat demonstrates great performance and STOL ability – at the best price!

Pipistrel

Pipistrel is known as world-leading designers and producers of advanced light aircraft and self-launching sailplanes.

Pipistrel aircraft are efficient, economical and Pipistrel aircraft are flying on all continents.

In nearly 30 years, Pipistrel has produced over 2000 aircraft, including powered hang gliders, motor gliders, self- launch sailplanes and other certified aircraft. Pipistrel produces an average 16-20 aircraft each month.

Today, Pipistrel focuses on research and rollout of green aircraft, electric & hybrid propulsion systems, and production of environmentally-friendly, efficient aircraft. 70% of Pipistrel’s total production is exported outside the EU.

Pipistrel was established in 1989 as the first private aircraft producer in former Yugoslavia and is considered the pioneer of private flying in Slovenia. In these first years, it was almost unimaginable for a private person to make an aircraft at home, and go-flying, since at this time all aviation was con- trolled by the military.

Being a private aircraft producer doesn’t seem unusual today, as hundreds of light aircraft manufacturers are operating world-wide. 30 years ago, however, offering an alternative to military aviation at army-regulated airfields was unheard of. Pipistrel started the recreational aviation market and can rightfully claim the title of “The Pioneer of Alternative Flying in Slovenia”.

The airfield where Pipistrel began their first flying attempts belonged to the army. If ultralight pilots wanted to fly, they had to do it in secret. It was because of these prohibitions that we named our company “Pipistrel”.

Patiently waiting for the army pilots to close their hangars and leave the airfield, these early pioneer ultralight pilots then tried to sneak in an hour or two of flying before darkness fell.

Pipistrel started the company manufacturing powered hang gliders, or ‘trikes’ as we now call them. These aircraft were flying late into the evening and the triangular shaped hang-glider wings reminded the local people of “bats” because they came out at dusk.

The Latin word for a bat is “Pipistrellus” which is where the company name originated, and Pipistrel was born; the rest of our story is now light aviation history.

You have seen our past.....  Just imagine our future !

Punkin Head Air Sports

Punkin Head Air Sports

For over fifteen years Punkin Head Air Sports has been custom making aircraft covers and accessories for the aviation industry. From prop covers, windsocks and cowl plugs to full aircraft covers, if you need to be covered we’re the ones who can do it!  Ultralights, Microlights, General Aviation, Rotor Wing - we've got you covered.

Accessories that Punkin Head Air Sports sell include: Bar Mitts, Stoneguard, Stoneguard Bags, Flight Bag, Panniers, Wind socks, Knee Boards, Funnel Bags, Pylon Bags, Survival Kits, Tool Roll, Tie Down Bag, Helmet Bag, XT Cargo Bag, Wing Bag, Pilot Covers, Patch Kit.

Punkin Head Air Sports started as an extension of flying activity Dianne McNamara commenced in 1995 - skydiving. Her interest in sewing and textiles soon led to a course in parachute rigging and repairs which was completed in 1998 just as she was introduced to what was to be the next great love of her flying career - Microlights.

Trikes gave her the freedom to stay in the air longer and actually go places .... something that proved to be a bit hard with a sports parachute rig. Naturally, needs were discovered for things such as bar mitts, panniers to carry extra fuel in, map holders - all the bits and pieces that make flying more comfortable.

Combining her knowledge of textiles with rigging and strength considerations Dianne produced articles unique in their approach to comfort, security of attachment and style of appearance. It wasn't long before others began requesting their own wing covers, kneeboards, wind socks etc., and the PHAS range of products had begun!

As demands for new products occurred, the same principles of design regarding practicality, suitability, strength and appearance were applied. PHAS now produces accessories and covers for general aviation, microlight and ultralight aircraft as well as providing parachute rigging and wing repair services.

Dianne flies as much as practicable, and when she is ground-bound in front of a sewing machine is always glancing out the window at the weather and imagining herself 'up there'.
